Two reports reveal Meta’s rollout of enhanced protections for teen accounts across Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. The new measures introduce stricter account restrictions and curated controls designed to shield young users from potential online risks. This initiative, in line with ongoing digital safety reforms, aims to address parental concerns while reinforcing the company’s commitment to user security by building on previously established privacy safeguards.
Meta is expanding its teen protections across its platforms, extending Instagram’s privacy and content restrictions to Facebook and Messenger, and imposing new limits on teenage users to block inappropriate contact and content.
Instagram has already moved 54 million kids into Teen Accounts. And there's more to come.
Meta is launching Teen Accounts on Facebook and Messenger with built-in protections for young users. Initially available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Canada, the feature follows Instagram’s rollout and will later expand globally.
